Best Practices

1. FOCUS ON WEAK TRAINEES

Weak trainees are identified during initial phase of training

They are imparted extra training through skilled trainers to achieve excellence

2. TRAINING OF MODERN GADGETS

Computer Lab with high-speed internet available in all wings

In-house courses on handling computers, projectors, interactive panels & other modern gadgets are imparting to the staff.

Trainees are also imparted basic knowledge of handling the computer.

3. THEME OF THE YEAR

This Institution formulated the concept of adopting " Theme of the Year" to motivate Trainees and trainers to achieve their goal in their respective field.

Theme of the year also displayed in different places of the campus.

4. METHOD OF EVALUATION

Weekly written practical tests are conducted for the subjects which are taught during the week to evaluate learning progress of trainees and to set remedial actions

5. TIE (Training Innovation & Excellence)

  • TIE meeting is conducted in every Monday under the Chairmanship of the Principal.>
  • The objective  of the meeting is to discuss innovation with existing resources and training requirements.
  • Training activities are carried out during the week and the problems faced are recorded for rectification
  • Pending paras of previous meetings and Training planner for the upcoming week are also discussed 

6. DIGITALIZED STUDY MATERIAL

  • Entire syllabus of training is made available in soft copy and forwarded to the training in WhatsApp group
  • Training videos on various weapons, tactics, physical training are prepared/downloaded, stored in R&D Cell, and distributed to all training wings.
  • The same are shown to the recruits which in turn act as a tool of retention of lessons learned.
  • Training programme & subject materials are shared in advance.

7. SHARING OF KNOWLEDGE

  • Trainers reporting after completion of various in-service courses from other institution share their knowledge on every Thursday.
  • All SOs and all training staff are benefitted by this system of "Sharing of Knowledge".

8. TRAINING ON NAVIGATION APP

  • Trainees of basic training and other in service courses are taught Orux Maverick navigational applications through skilled trainers.
  • It moulds them as an asset for the Field Unit.

9. IN-HOUSES COURSES

  • Various In-Houses courses are conducted to specialize the training staff to hone their instructional ability
  • Final assessment of the course is done by internal B.O.Os

10. FACULTY CLUBS

  • Faculty clubs on drill, PT, Support Weapons, FC & Tactics, MR/Navigation, and IEDs and explosives are established.
  • Each club is headed by Inspector as CCTI, assisted by SI as CTI and 3 or more specialized trainers as members.
  • Each week all faculty members sit together and discuss upcoming training programme on said subject. 
  • The purpose of the meeting is to bring similarity among all training wings during conduct of training.
  • They also suggest improvements/innovations on said subjects & submit the same to Chief Training Officer.

11. GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL

  • Meeting of Squad Seniors with Principal is carried out every month to address the problems faced by them including shortage of basic amenities if any, during the training period.
  • Interaction with Principal results in immediate redressal of grievances and creates a conducive atmosphere for the trainees.

12. TRAINERS QUARTERLY ASSESSMENT

  • Quarterly assessment of entire training staff including SOs is done meticulously by internal B.O.Os to check their professional competency & teaching ability.
  • Gradings are awarded by the B.O.Os during the assessment and the same is put up before the Principal.
  • Those staff who have obtained lower grade is detailed for In-house courses to improve their instructional ability.

13. USE OF MULTIMEDIA AUDIO VISUALS

  • Weekly training activities are recorded & shown to the trainees to rectify their mistakes.
  • Animated videos, training movies and training videos (which are recorded during training activities) are  shown to the trainees weekly.

14. DIGITAL LANGUAGE LAB

  • As the medium of communication of our force is Hindi learning the same is essential for trainees who are from Non-Hindi states.
  • Hence, they are given coaching in digital language lab in addition to traditional learning method.
  • Rapidex Books in different languages are available at each wings.

15. BEST PERFORMER OF THE MONTH

  • Various methods are being adopted to stimulate team spirit & healthy competition among the trainees.
  • Squad competitions are conducted weekly. Best squads are identified & their flags hoisted accordingly.
  • Those trainees who have obtained highest distinction are given "Best Trainee Badges" to bring a sense of pride & healthy competition among the trainees.
  • Trainees are also awarded "Commendation Certificate" for their praiseworthy performance.

16. ONLINE FEEDBACK

  • This Institution takes feedback from the trainees weekly & during last week of training.
  • Grievance of the trainees are brought to the notice of Principal for immediate redressal.
  • Valuable suggestions are discussed in TIE Meetings and adopted as per requirement.
  • The remarkable feature of this feedback is "PAPERLESS" Google form & Survey heart apps are used to take feedback.

17. COUNSELING/MOTORING

  • Trainees are counseled by the officers & detailed SOs of the respective Wings.
  • Trainees are encouraged to share their personal & professional problems.
  • They are given advice on the problems being faced by them & the same is brought to the knowledge of the Principal, if required.
  • Wing-wise mentoring system is also in vogue. Weak trainees are encouraged & monitored to achieve excellence.

18. TRAINING LABS

Various training labs are created for a better understanding of various training modules :

  • Navigation Skill Lab
  • Shooting Skill Lab
  • IED Lab
  • Computer Lab

19. IED LANE

  • An IED Lane is established with different mechanisms (24 Nos) which are prevalent in Naxal-affected areas.
  •  Exposure to IED Lane will enrich the cognitive skills of the trainees and greater understanding of Naxals' modus operandi.

20. R&D CELL

Research Development Cell is functioniong in this Institution with the objective to develop innovative ideas in the field of training.

Following activities are carried out :-

  • Publication of e-News Letter (Monthly)
  • Publication of e-Magzine Glitter (Monthly)
  • Updation of RTC Website.
  • Maintenance/Updation of case studies and Training materials.
  • Publication of souvenir/coffee table book.
  • Preparation of training videos.
  • Maintenance of photos & videos of all events chronologically.
  • Designing of yearly calendar

21. CULTURAL PROGRAMME

Cultural programme is organized regularly to break the monotony of training.

It rejuvenates trainees to prepare themselves to face upcoming training activities with zeal

Trainees are encouraged to perform regional folk dance, playing instruments and anchoring so that they gain confidence.

22. EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

  • Topics on Days of National Importance are given to the trainees for public speaking/debate, essay writing & drawing competitions to develop public speaking skills & to bring out their talents.
  •  Trainees who are interested in Photography are details for capsule course to develo[ extra curricular activities.
  •  Trainees are encouraged to click photos of Flora and Fauna of the Campus.
  •  "Best Photographs" are selected weekly to encourage their photographic skills & the same is published in e-magazine - Glitter monthly.

23. CLUBS

  • Various Clubs are created to inculcate healthy habits among Staff & Trainiees.
  • Activities such as nurturing nature, awareness through Cycle Rally, Photography,  Arts creativity, Music Instruments and Martial arts/ Yoga Club are organized through these Clubs.

24. TACTICAL PARK

  • Tactical Park, Map Reading Park, and Guerrilla Track are established beside WT Ground of Training Wings.
  •  Tactical Park consists of various topographical forms, Field Fortification, Engineering, section and platoon formation.
