J & K Zone, CRPF, Jammu raised on 22/09/2009 with operational jurisdiction of the Force deployed in four states, three UTs and NCT viz. Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, J&K, Ladakhnd Delhi Later, administrative responsibilities were also entrusted to the Zone vide Dte. General, CRPF Order No. C.XVIII-I/2009-Pers-DA.I dated 25/10/2010.
J & K Zone is one of the largest Zone of CRPF, consisting of 6 Sectors (including 01 Ops Sector) viz. NS, NWS, Jammu, Srinagar, Rajasthan Sector and Ops Kashmir Sector. 80 operational Bns (includ, Chandigarh aing 01 Mahila Bn, SDG and PDG) are deployed in the area of responsibility of this Zone.
J & K Zone is tasked with mainly law & Order in the area of the responsibility, combating terrorism in J&K, R.O.P. duty, Static Guards, VIP Security, Parliament Security, guarding of PMO and residences of SPG protectees, guarding of various vital installations of Govt. and Sri Mata Vaishnav Devi Shrine, providing security to pilgrims of Sri Amarnathji Yatra, conduct of fair and peaceful elections as and when deputed.
J & K Zone is located at GC CRPF Bantalab Campus.
